Hyglos Steptavidin Magnetic Beads are a versatile affinity support for a variety of applications. The superparamagnetic beads respond well to magnetic fields but have no magnetic memory.
With specific capture molecules (e.g. biotinylated antibodies) target molecules can easily be isolated.
Hyglos Streptavidin Magnetic Beads are composed of hydrophilic, cross-linked, chemical polymer.
Advantages
Very good magnetic properties
High biotin binding capacity
Low sedimentation rate
Low aggregation rate
Low non-specific binding
Low level of streptavidin leakage
The ligand Streptavidin, with its four identical subunits each containing high affinity binding site for biotin, enables the magnetic separation and purification of almost any biotin-linked target molecule.
Application examples
Immunoprecipitation / Immunodetection
Isolation of nucleic acids
Cell capture
Phage Display / Biopanning
